Steering the Movement
Leslie Wimes
Executive Director
Leslie Wimes is a Florida-based civic leader, healthcare professional, and political organizer with a long-standing commitment to public service, community advocacy, and civic engagement.
She is the founder of Protect Our Voice PAC and is also recognized as the founder of Women On The Move and the Democratic African American Women Caucus, organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment, voter engagement, and amplifying the political voice and leadership of African-American women across Florida.
In addition to her civic and Political work, Wimes has an extensive healthcare background spanning more than three decades in nursing and critical care. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and is now pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Yale University.
Her clinical and academic work reflect a strong commitment to advancing healthcare equity, improving patient outcomes, and serving vulnerable and underserved communities through both her healthcare leadership and political advocacy.
Wimes has remained focused on empowering communities, protecting voting rights, increasing civic participation, and creating pathways for African-American women to lead and influence policy throughout Florida and beyond.
Tammy Jackson-Moore
Political director
Tammy Jackson-Moore is a servant leader, visionary, consultant, community organizer, change agent, and advocate committed to leadership, excellence, and community impact.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Tammy has been a resident of Palm Beach County for more than 32 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Barry University and has dedicated her career to transforming lives, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for others.
Tammy’s work has earned her distinguished recognition, including being named in Who’s Who in Black South Florida. She has also served as chairperson of the Palm Beach County Commission on Women and has held leadership roles with several boards, committees, and organizations, including the American Red Cross.
As a passionate advocate for women, Tammy founded a leadership program designed to provide women with professional development, training, guidance, and growth opportunities. She believes strong relationships and strategic partnerships are essential to addressing community concerns and creating lasting solutions.
Tammy brings extensive experience in governmental and nonprofit business practices. Her professional background includes serving as a Public Information Officer, Senior Outreach Specialist, and municipal Deputy Administrator. Her advocacy and community efforts have been featured in media outlets across the state and country.

Contributions to Protect Our Voice PAC are not tax deductible. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. Contributions from foreign nationals, federal government contractors, and corporations are prohibited. By contributing, you certify that you are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident, the contribution is made from your own funds, you are not a federal contractor, and the contribution is not made from the funds of a corporation or labor organization.
